A California Personal Insurance Update

We recommend a personal insurance review at least once per year.  It is always good to review your personal insurance portfolio to make sure you are adequately covered.  One advantage of working with our agency is that we are able to design a personal insurance program that fits your individual needs. We work hard to find you the best possible combination of coverage, price, and service.

We offer a wide range of personal insurance products including home, auto, umbrella, ATV, renters, flood, earthquake, boat, travel, individual health, motorhome, and condominium insurance.

Why Review Your Personal Insurance?

There are many good reasons to review your personal insurance; these might include:

  • You have sent a child to college.
  • You made a purchase of a snowmobile or jet ski.
  • There is a new baby in the family.
  • Your spouse went back to work.
  • You have moved.
  • You are planning to retire.

Here Are A Few Personal Insurance Products To Consider This Fall

Individual Life Insurance

Life insurance can provide your family with financial security by providing the financial resources should there be a loss of a breadwinner.  Term Life Insurance is a low-cost way of providing coverage for your family.  Protection is provided for a limited number of years.  Life insurance can be used to pay off a mortgage, pay outstanding bills, or be used as future income.  Term life insurance is very cost-effective; however, your situation may require a whole life or universal life product.  Our team can meet with you to determine what life product best fits your family’s needs.

Toy Insurance

As fall and winter approach, you may have recently purchased a snowmobile.  Every snowmobile needs to be added to your personal insurance program.  We can offer affordable personal liability and collision coverage for your snowmobile.

 Earthquake Insurance

There has been an increase in earthquakes, which has lead experts to remind us of the need for competitive earthquake insurance.  Most homeowner’s insurance policies exclude earthquake coverage.  If you suffer financial loss from an earthquake, you will want the backing and support of earthquake insurance.

Individual Long-Term Care Insurance

Individual long-term care insurance can offer resources to your family in the event a covered family member needs assistance with daily living due to advanced age or illness.  The Alzheimer’s Association estimated end-of-life care costs in 2016 were between $217,820 and $341,651.  Simply put, long-term care is expensive.  Long-term insurance can cover nursing care, assisted living, adult day care, in-home care, and home modification.

Personal Umbrella Insurance

Personal umbrella insurance is not just for the rich.  Even a relatively small lawsuit can lead to tens of thousands of dollars of expenses. Personal umbrella policies can go over your home insurance, auto insurance, RV insurance, motorcycle insurance and more.  It can also cover catastrophic claims such as your neighbor’s child drowning in your pool.

Collector Car Insurance

If you own a collector or vintage car, you should have collector car insurance coverage.  Collector or classic car insurance can save you a considerable amount of money because these insurers specialize in this kind of coverage.  Classic cars generally include vehicles over 20 year’s old, exotic cars, muscle cars, sports cars, and collectible cars.

Individual Disability Insurance

More than one in four 20-year-olds will experience a disability in some form or another for at least 90 days or more before they reach the age of 67, according to the Social Security Administration.  An individual disability plan can supplement a plan offered by your employer.  If your employer doesn’t provide disability insurance, then you may want to consider an individual disability policy through our agency.  A typical individual disability plan can pay benefits after you have been off work for 1 to 6 months, and pays benefits for several years or until retirement age, depending on the coverage and policy.

Here Are A Few Home Safety Tips

As we move into a new season, it is important to remember to get your home prepared for the fall.  While most Californians do not have to deal with crazy winters, we do need to be prepared for high wind and some level of rainfall.

  • Keep all vegetation clear from around your home to help reduce fire damage.
  • Clean gutters. Make sure water is not coming down from behind gutters and that all support brackets are securely in place.
  • Check your roof for any damage.
  • Tune up your HVAC system
  • Inspect any walkways and handrails.
  • Check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
  • Verify that your attic is adequately ventilated.
  • Give your deck a fresh coat of stain or sealer to protect it from the winter elements.

We are ready to help you review your personal insurance program. It may be that you do not need any additional personal insurance coverage.  On the other hand, you may only need adjustments to your limits or deductibles.  Whatever the case, we can help.  Give our team a call today.
